		<description>Quite interesting in this context are the regional differences i.e. between Europe and America. While the yellow color (carotene) is already present in the leaves, but the anthocyanin is just synthesized. Why some plants use energy in synthesis for nicely colored dying leaves was investigated at the University of Haifa.
